Personal Style

I think a lot about what it means to have good personal style. It's something that is at once ephemeral and elusive, and instantly identifiable. We tend to characterize those who have it as having a certain je ne sais quoi. But those that still seek it might find that oft used description lacking. To me, good personal style is authentic and unique. It's an expression of who you are at any given moment in your life's journey. It's about not being a TTH (Trying Too Hard; and yes, apparently that's a noun according to my 11 year old daughter and her forward-thinking friends). It's not about seeking the approval of arbitrary arbiters of style, but instead it's about honoring yourself, having fun, and being unafraid to play.

Wear what you love. Love what you wear. I do. And sometimes it looks like this, and sometimes it looks like distressed denim and a black t-shirt. But in the end, it's always just me.
